Labor Day Weekend, Live Music, and a Month Full of Reasons to Come Downtown
September is here, and we're kicking it off in the best way possible: a full Labor Day weekend lineup, live music every week, a couple of ticketed shows worth putting on your calendar now, and some new additions to the menu you're going to want to try. Here's everything happening at BUS this month.
Labor Day Weekend: September 4-6
Three days of live music, dancing, and good times right here on North Chaparral. Whatever your idea of a perfect long weekend looks like, we've got something for you.
Friday, September 4
The 4th Annual MusicWalk is taking over Downtown Corpus Christi, and BUS is right in the middle of it. The city-wide event runs from 6-10pm with 60+ musicians, 250+ local vendors, and 25+ food trucks spread across multiple stages throughout downtown. Streets will be closed and the whole neighborhood becomes one giant music destination, with every genre from Tejano to EDM represented.
We're kicking things off early at BUS, with Joseph Martinez on stage from 4-7pm, then the Johnny Kiser Band takes over from 7-11pm. Start your Labor Day weekend right here and make a full night of it.
Saturday, September 5
Start your Saturday at Brunch Club from 11am to 3pm. It's downtown's daytime dance party, hosted alongside Navigating Corpus Christi and featuring DJ sets from Ero Soul and Denzy, coffee from Cafesite Babe, and permanent jewelry from Soul Ties Co. Bring your crew, come make some new friends, and yes, dancing before noon is absolutely encouraged.
Then come back that night, because Saturday is country night. The Randall Hunt Band takes the stage from 9pm to midnight for Country Dance Night, and it is exactly what it sounds like: two-stepping, boot-scootin', cold-drink-in-hand country music.
Sunday, September 6
Can I Make a Request?! is back for Labor Day Weekend, and this year the theme is Club Classics. CIMAR runs from 6-11pm with sounds by Dreamware x King G, plus DJs Audeo and ViCG coming in all the way from Houston. And the party doesn't stop at music: there's a tattoo pop-up from Espinoza Tattoos, live screen printing from Port City Studios, and a merch pop-up on site. Tickets are available now.

September 11: Flying Free Band
The Flying Free Band brings the live music energy to BUS.
Sunday, September 13: Bria Stone
Bria Stone takes the stage for a Sunday evening of live music. A perfect way to close out your weekend before the week begins.
Thursday, September 17: Tales Behind the Tunes
The Ritz Theatre Spotlight Series is coming to BUS for a very special night. Grammy nominee Marv Green and Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee Terry McBride have written some of the most iconic country songs of the last few decades, with credits that include George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Lonestar, Carrie Underwood, and dozens more. Now they're bringing those songs to life with storytelling on stage.
Doors open and the dinner buffet begin at 6:30pm. Music starts at 7:30pm. Reserved Tables for 8 include dinner and 2 drink tickets per guest. General Admission includes dinner and open seating. This one is ticketed, so grab your seats before they're gone.
Saturday, September 19: Plant Party Community Market
House Plant Clubbin is bringing their Plant Party Community Market to our breezeway, and it is going to be a good one. Expect a DJ, local vendors, and a plant swap at 6pm. The whole thing runs from 5-9pm and is free to attend. (You can, of course, grab a drink while you shop.)
Friday, September 25: SoundWaves 2026
Pull up a seat and grab a drink as talented student performers take the stage for SoundWaves 2026. Free to attend.
Sunday, September 27: Joseph Martinez
Joseph Martinez closes out the month with a Sunday evening of live music. The perfect excuse to linger a little longer.
Wednesday Run Club
Every Wednesday, BUS is the starting point for the CC Run Club After Dark Wednesday 5K. Lace up and meet the group at 6:30pm. Walk it, run it, or show up for the social after. All are welcome, and you know where to grab a drink when you're done.
New This Month
The menu got a refresh this month, and the Brunchwrap is the main event. Plus new wraps, a Chopped Cheese Burrito, an upgraded Ahi Tuna Tostada, and two new cocktails worth trying (the Tia Pepita and the Hibiscus Margarita) are all on the lineup now. Come taste test!
Sunset Happy Hour All September
The sun's out later, so we figured happy hour should be too. Grab $7 martinis Monday through Friday from 8-10pm, plus whatever food is on happy hour that day stays discounted through the window as well.
